I truly feel honoured and privileged to be the President of ASAMI India, an organisation which is associated with highest standards of academic exchange in the field of ilizarov methodology for deformity correction, limb reconstruction and lengthening. I accept this honour bestowed upon me with full humility and assure you all of my resolve for serving all the members of ASAMI India with best of my efforts and zeal.
My dream is to make ASAMI India an active and vibrant organisation with the motto of "Lets Teach the Basics". My emphasis will be on Basic training of Post graduates as well as 'Young and budding' Orthopaedic Surgeons, thus providing them an extra tool in their armamentarium and empowering them with skill based knowledge to tackle the most complex case scenarios using ilizarov methodology.
In order to increase and expedite the membership drive of ASAMI India we have eased out the membership process by making it online on our website.
We felt the need to standardise the learning of ilizarov methodology all over India. ASAMI India has many learned and highly experienced surgeons who are into the use of ilizarov methods for quiet long and also into continuous teaching activities. Therefore in order to standardise the learning of ilizarov methods all across the nation, we have created a group of ASAMI India faculty comprising of teachers par- excellence with reputation beyond words.
One of the key areas of focus will be to promote a culture of recognition and reward valuable contributions. I shall strive to work towards ensuring that maximum ASAMI India members get suitable national and international forums and take the association's flag higher.
Teamwork and Transparency are the basic tenets required for the holistic growth of any organisation and the same stands true for ASAMI India. These features of governance shall always remain at the core of my functionality. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have a team of dynamic and hardworking members in the Executive committee and Working committee, and I am sure that we together under the guidance of our past presidents will steer our organisation to new heights.
